Anyone Know What's Good In San Francisco?

I've been to San Francisco several times. If you are going to strictly stay in the city, then spend some time in Chinatown. Visit Old St Mary's cathedral. Take a picture in front of the Full House house. Ride the rail cars. Fisherman's Warf is ok, but mostly touristy stuff. Definitely do the Alcatraz/Bay tour, but buy tickets in advance.

 

If you'll have a car, it's worth the short drive to Muir woods. Have more time? Drive down the coast. It's beautiful. Go to some wine tastings in Sonoma if you're old enough. Have even more time? Take an extra couple days to drive to Yosemite--especially in the spring when the waterfalls are at their strongest.

Except for the RiceARoni, great ideas and great photos.  That stuff... horrible.

 

I'm putting together some ideas.... will drop 'em on here in next day or so.... dUSt, I basically agree with most of those choices... wish the trip down the coast & to Yosemite was likely.... but we can find ARFink some good stuff to do around here... and drop some more pix and ideas in as we go.

 

You know... threads like this for a lot of places wouldn't be a bad idea... we know what kinds of stuff Phatmassers like......
