Papist
I know it won't seat 6 comfortably. It doesn't have to seat them comfortably, it just has to do it legally :P When we got to America, my dad borrowed my grandpop's pickup truck (which ironically originally belonged to my dad) and the four of us rode in the front bench seat. Admittedly, my brother and I were reasonably small at the time and it was still tight, but we made it work. My first truck was an '84 El Camino with a bench seat. I've fit myself and three people with my frame in the front seat. It's not the most comfortable, but it works. Same thing for my current pickup. I realize that a sedan is not as wide, so I won't be able to squeeze 4 people anymore, but we can squeeze 3 people in easily. And even if it is a bit tight, that's not the end of the world. Plus, if we make it to child #4, then I'll be looking at minivans simply in the realm of wanting to carry one of our kids' friends with us somewhere. And yes, the minivan is absolutely wonderful for anything more than 4 people, but I prefer function over comfort (which is why earlier I said I'd be willing to go for leather seats if it turned out Missy needed them). For right now and for the next few years, I see more function in the 6 person sedan. Everyone needs to wear a seat-belt legally, yes? I mean outside of South Carolina. I've never bothered to see if there's anything contrary to that.

Jesus_lol
Do you mind if I ask you why you are buying a brand new car, rather than a late model car at a dealership? or even a used car from a private dealer, or refurbished by a dealer? Do you dislike money that much?

Do you dislike money that much? No worries, of course you can that's a completely reasonable question. I don't think I'll end up buying a new car, I'm looking at the new cars to see what's available and what the best thing out there is. My parents are really pushing for me to get a new car, but I probably won't get brand new, most likely something less than 5 years old. I'm looking at the new vehicles to see what the best thing out there could be and the possible combinations that would allow it, and then when I look for used, I know exactly which features to look for. I know I'll have to fight a little bit and I know I still probably won't get everything, but I should be able to get most of it.

Most I know push the opposite way, because they dont want their children to end up in debt for years at a young age before they get the kind of higher paying steady jobs that make financing a new car worthwhile and doable. I wouldnt recommend checking out the new stuff too much, it will tend to just make any old car you look at stand out more as "old, etc", even when they could be perfectly fine, reliable cars that would serve you well for years, at a fraction of the initial cost. I can tell you straight up, I dont have a whole lot of expensive new things. my car is a 1992 toyota celica GT that I bought for 2400$, my motorcycle is a 1994 Suzuki RF900r that i bought for 2200$. But I own both outright, i dont have to worry about an additional payment each month, aside from gas and insurance. I dont feel bad when either get a scratch on them, and neither depreciated by thousands of dollars the second i bought them. Also, I could have bought 3 of each of them for the price of a ultra cheap new car. that is a lot of extra money for whatever else you need, like repairs, maintenance and gas, etc.

But they don't want me financing it or anything, they want me to buy the car outright and are even offering to help with the cost. But I agree with you, I think it's wasting a chunk of change. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they want to help, but I think that money is better spent elsewhere. And the whole thing about being disappointed with old cars after looking at new, I understand why you say it and I see a fair amount of truth in it, but I was expecting a little of that and have even been putting a buffer on that so I think I'll be okay with whatever I get. And yea, I don't have many new things either. I get most of my stuff used, whether it's thrift stores, craigslist, antique shops, off the curb, etc. and I don't have any problem with it. Thanks for voicing your concerns 8{D
PhuturePriest
Sedans that say they seat 6, don't say will seat 6 comfortably. I love the minivan. My sister has that exact model of Ford minivan. She doesn't like the grey color so she named it The Ugly Gwendolyn.
