CreepyCrawler
I know this is not exactly a question about catholicism, but do anglicans view the sacrament of the eucharist in the same way is the catholic church does? Also, another question: is it wrong to chew the host after you receive in during communion? i am afraid that it would be mean to chew Jesus but that may be because i'm weird. how are you suppposed to do it? Thanks.
Pontifex
Chew, but do it with reverance. Don't smack the host like a piece of juicy fruit like I have seen some people do. Really, it is okay to chew. The Anglican faith is very similar to ours. Certainly their idea of communion is skewed because they do not see themselves as part of the Body. They do not acknowledge the Pope as head of the Church and therefore stand in contradiction. As far as if they believe that they receive the body and blood of Christ, the answer is yes, they believe they receive the body and blood of Christ. (They don't however.) Fr.
