Please Cover Us In Prayer - Sursum Corda

Hey phriends!

 

Please cover me and the preists working with me in your prayers. After a year of searching and praying we are starting a new ministry to all Catholics to help overcome our societal p0.rn problem. We have sat by for too long occassionally throwing a brochure, CD, or book at people, or telling them to go to confession and pray the rosary every day. The fact is, p0.rn is everywhere and everyone is effected by it in one way or another. I know too many good Catholic men who have been dealing with this for years or decades. I have seen marriages ruined by it, and I have seen how it escalates in peoples lives. We need a regular support group where people who have no one to help them will have the support they need.

 

 

The ministry is called "Sursum Corda" and is launching in my diocese next month. We will use drop cards pictured below to spread the word. Priests will hand them out in confession, we will put them in literature racks, and with permission put them on peoples cars during Mass. Our goal isn't just to help men break the habit, but to build up the entire community in the positive aspects of chastity.

 

The basic meetings are two hours once a month and include an hour of fellowship, a guest speaker, and time for accountability and group sharing. The second hour will be Eucharistic Adoration, the rosary, and confession. We know it effects women too, and are already working on that aspect as well.

 

Finally our hope is to spread this to other dioceses and places, once we have worked out any problems and have seen success. After posting announcements on my facebook page I have been privately flooded by requests for more info, and at the same time those of us working on this have been hit by some serious spiritual attacks. We need your prayers and intercessions from the very start. Please, please, please pray for us but again, especially for the priests on our team.

Sounds like a grand plan, and I hope you succeed. Know that you will have to fight through all the powers of hell for this though- Satan will lose many who were once firmly in his clutches because of you and your friends working with the Lord.
