DiscerningCatholic
And lo and behold, the devil trying to break up the prolife movement. Just don't tell AHA that, because they'll probably say that because you're Catholic, you find Satan rather cute.
Basilisa Marie
lol Their admins keep bringing it up and trying to cover their derrieres and all the Catholics on the pages are like NOPE nice try. They linked to this late last night: http://blog.abolishhumanabortion.com/2013/01/an-open-letter-to-pro-life-roman.html TLDR: They haul out the Beatitudes to get all defensive about the big mean old Catholic bloggers, conveniently forgetting that it was some of their virulently anti-Catholic admins who started this whole fiasco. Papist
Slick trick sticking the Church in there with Jack Chick. I was disappointed AHA didn't put us in there with our buddy Adolf.

Derp. I love how they talk about their Proddie dance and their grand salvation as if we'd never heard the Passion story before... :ohno: Bahahaha, OMW, "God is responsible for the Bible, not the RCC." No kidding. But who compiled it? God didn't come down out of a cloud on a chariot with neon lights and spinners and just hand the "Great" reformers of the 1500's a fully compiled (but lacking 7 books) Bible. I'd also like to point out that they clearly don't know the difference between righteous indignation and judgement/hatred. Just like the rest of society, I might add. But we're "throwing rocks from across the Tiber" only because they made uneducated, arrogant claims about the Church. We rise up when provoked. We don't go picking fights; we defend the truth. Debra Little
I feel like this is an accurate description of their whole movement. And of their attitude toward anyone but the people in their group. Oh Yes! I've been in those Fundamental groups. Spent years them and nothing ever messed up my head more than the fundamental churches. I am so glad I converted to Catholicism. It's the best there is. I have a mother and a father who love me dearly!
FutureCarmeliteClaire
I am perfectly fine with participating a prolife group made up of more than just Catholics, it's when they start to insult my faith, that's when I say no more. I think the fighting over the Bible on both sides is kind of ridiculous.
Debra Little
I find it utterly repulsive that they claim to be an inter-denominational group that insists on encouraging fighting among its ranks, particularly against Catholics. I thought the whole purpose of inter-denominational groups was...oh, I don't know...putting aside our differences to promote a cause we all agree on? How in the world do they expect pro-choice people to listen to them, if they can't even listen to each other? Bingo! I doubted when Brother Adam was telling me, but they are. :( http://www.patheos.com/blogs/thecrescat/2013/01/where-i-take-far-too-much-delight-in-responding-to-the-anti-catholic-group-abolish-human-abortion.html Read on for the rest. It's a little disheartening because it seemed like they did a lot of great stuff, but I already get enough of pro-life groups in my town being anti-Catholic - I don't need to get it from people on the internet too. :( don't like this guy. I guess you do count Baptist in with those. None of those places helped me find what I was looking for. When I converted to the Catholic church I found what I wanted and more. KnightofChrist
I use to 'like' them on Facebook, but after I changed my profile pic to the Pope, their status updates ceased showing up. Now I know why I suppose. I wouldn't be surpised if they were somehow affiliated with C.A.R.M., same kind of mindset at least. That being the case it is probably a waste of time to debate them. If you've ever visited C.A.R.M. you should know what I'm talking about. Those guys can start a thread in their version of the debate table on the topic of the Catholic Church, and bash the Church for 20 pages with oceans and oceans of colorfully formatted words without ever having a Catholic respond. Their hate for all things Catholic seems to be an addiction, an emotional cry of wrath.

Tony
Also, I find it really ironic that they say that the pro-life movement needs to revolve around "preaching the Gospel." So the REAL point of AHA is to get everyone to do the Proddy dance and, as Mr. Patheos (can't remember his/her name) said, "So the saved babies are just bonuses then?" They say that it's foolish to base the pro-life movement upon scientific facts about fetal development? I'm sorry, AHA, but have you ever debated a diehard atheist pro-abort? Probably not, because I have (and I'm probably younger than all of you) and they will absolutely NOT listen to you banging your Bibles on the table screaming about "The Love of JEEZUS!" to them. It's NOT the right time to talk about "gettin' saved by sayin' the prayers" when an atheist is considering abortion. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that atheists love facts. Scientific facts. And you NEED to use scientific facts about fetal development when you're trying to help someone rethink getting an abortion, regardless of their beliefs. There's no way around it. The last time I tried to use scientific facts (life begins at conception, it gets a heart beat, limbs, etc at this and that stage etc), it turned into "This is why women bear children because men couldn't handle pregnancy." I still can't figure out the connection between when a fetus becomes human and if a male can handle pregnancy or not
FutureCarmeliteClaire
Does it seem to anyone else that they're almost like a cult? I'm even talking about without the anti-Catholic stuff. Like how they use that symbol after they sign their names on anything? Idk, the whole thing is weird to me.

Like how they use that symbol after they sign their names on anything? Idk, the whole thing is weird to me. I was a member of a fundamentalist church years ago, beliefs were similar to Pentecostal. I was kicked out of that church by the pastor and told by his wife, "you have nothing to look forward to but judgement and hell." Several years later I converted to the Catholic church. When I thought about it after I had been away from it for quite some time it occurred to me that that group was like a Christian cult. It really was. The pastor and his wife were idolized as well as certain people within the church. Anyone that they didn't like was kicked out. Weird! Tell me about it, I've been there. I use to 'like' them on Facebook, but after I changed my profile pic to the Pope, their status updates ceased showing up. Now I know why I suppose.
