Abolish Human Abortion Is Virulently Anti-catholic

I doubted when Brother Adam was telling me, but they are. :(

… Did you know I’m the embodiment of evil? Perhaps I get that from the “satanic religious system” in which I belong. But I find myself a bit too excited to respond to the discombobulated ramblings recently addressed at me by the loathsome anti-Catholic group, Abolish Human Abortion. I know. I’m a terrible terrible person for enjoying this, especially when they’ve made my rebuttal so effortless. But yes, yes I immensely enjoy any opportunity to defend my faith. Defending myself against claims of being diabolical… harder to refute.

I don’t know where to start. There’s so much juicy to pick from. I’ll just have to start with the title and work my way through the thread. Get comfortable.

Read on for the rest. It's a little disheartening because it seemed like they did a lot of great stuff, but I already get enough of pro-life groups in my town being anti-Catholic - I don't need to get it from people on the internet too. :(

As my dad would say, "They don't know s***."

And, as usual, he'd be right. Poor, ignorant, dopey little folks. :ohno:

And since when is the pro-life campaign focused on the Rosary? They brought it up (as do pro-aborts)...not us!

I love the bit about "We don't think demons are cute and funny." Uh...cool...? I guess? Neither do we...

Also, I find it really ironic that they say that the pro-life movement needs to revolve around "preaching the Gospel." So the REAL point of AHA is to get everyone to do the Proddy dance and, as Mr. Patheos (can't remember his/her name) said, "So the saved babies are just bonuses then?"

They say that it's foolish to base the pro-life movement upon scientific facts about fetal development? I'm sorry, AHA, but have you ever debated a diehard atheist pro-abort? Probably not, because I have (and I'm probably younger than all of you) and they will absolutely NOT listen to you banging your Bibles on the table screaming about "The Love of JEEZUS!" to them. It's NOT the right time to talk about "gettin' saved by sayin' the prayers" when an atheist is considering abortion. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that atheists love facts. Scientific facts. And you NEED to use scientific facts about fetal development when you're trying to help someone rethink getting an abortion, regardless of their beliefs. There's no way around it.

I feel like this is an accurate description of their whole movement. And of their attitude toward anyone but the people in their group.

I find it utterly repulsive that they claim to be an inter-denominational group that insists on encouraging fighting among its ranks, particularly against Catholics.  I thought the whole purpose of inter-denominational groups was...oh, I don't know...putting aside our differences to promote a cause we all agree on?

How in the world do they expect pro-choice people to listen to them, if they can't even listen to each other?

You reminded me of a non-denom megachurch at home.  Multiple "campuses" so people can watch the service from the main "campus" on big screens.  They claim to accept anyone, it doesn't matter your branch of Christianity, if you're gay or straight, your skin color, etc.  But the Pope doesn't speak for Christians because Catholics aren't Christians.

And since when is the rosary not the gospel? Lol it's meditating on the life of Christ :)

But you know what the obvious problem with that is, right? It's something that AHA doesn't do, it's not whacking people over the head with John 3:16, and it's Catholic. Therefore, it's bad.

I went to the FB page and found the following post from Tuesday.

I chose to delete the last poster because so many people are red-hot anti-AHA right now and it seemed like they didn't understand what I was trying to say.

We truly believe that the Catholic Church has led the way in the fight against abortion and that the cultural reputation of the ProLife Movement being primarily Catholic is well deserved and true.

This is part of the reason that we are so dead set on calling out the Protestant Churches in America and pleading with them to do more to Abolish Human Abortion.

We are trying to get Protestant, evangelical, or absolutely no-designation Christians to become Abolitionists. And for the hundredth time, we are not here to "bash" Catholics.

Regardless of what has been said by us or any of our admins or by any of the opportunist who took this whole fiasco as an opportunity to divide people and stir up division and confusion, We believe that prolife catholics and evangelical abolitionists can do all sorts of fruitful things together in the fight against abortion. We don't have to agree on all things or keep silent about the things we disagree on in order to come up with a way to fight a common enemy in abortion.

PLEASE let us get back to work destroying pro-choice misinformation, and waking up the apathetic to join the movement.

Of course the comments on this post remind everyone that this organization is not entirely innocent as they would like to appear.

Katrina R Fernandez I'm sorry. I think the division was stirred up when you posted that we don't preach the gospel & worship idols. Oh, and that we aren't Christian. PS - You're welcome for the Bible. Love, Proud Papist.

Amy Cole Brewer Dear A//A - you still do not understand. Either you respect Catholics as fellow Christians of good will and you want us to work together with you, or you don't. It is time for you to decide, and to clearly state your decision. You cannot have it both ways.

AHA definitely messed up and are learning the ills of fighting two wars simultaneously.
