Less than 5% is in stocks. Most is invested in government bonds..pretty safe company.

I am no expert on these things, but I am pretty sure that if you are praying for your own conversion, it is basically a done deal. :|

If the dollar fail; everyone is screwed; not just the KofC. Anywho, the Euro will fail first. Also not just U.S. bonds, but they have pretty large holdings in Canadian bonds as well.

I take vacation whenever I want.

Neat!

Probably...but it was a trick prayer!

rotfl Quite literally. That's one of the funniest conspiracies ever. And I'm still laughing. (Of course, it's late. And I should be on my way to bed.)

It really is, looking back on it! :)  Was so scared about RCIA, I had two friends call from me.  So the parish got calls from Texas and New Jersey; I told my confessor before I was Confirmed about it.  He laughed. :|

I love the idea of a conspiracy to get people to pray for themselves... he he he...

Now about that special intention....

I could see you doing that. :P

Good pig.  No form 100 signed. :)

I did my first degree on Jan 28th.

So glad I joined. Great group of guys!

And for those who are paranoid about the secrecy, I can assure you as a practicing catholic there is NOTHING weird that goes on. On my honor it was all good.

Hey Enrique.

So, your message just brought me back from silence after a while. And I thought that I had been done with this addiction. :P

As I messaged Enrique, the 'secrecy', if it can be called that, is to keep the ceremonies special and memorable for new brother knights. That's it. We just don't want to spoil the surprise. To be sure, one of the main reasons why the K of C was founded was to deal with a surge of men joining secret societies, such as the Masons, Skull and Bones, etc. As these particular societies are little more than cults, and are heavily documented as being anti-Catholic, there was a large reason to come up with a Catholic fraternity to offer something competitive. The other reason was to offer group life insurance to poor Irish Catholic immigrants who often worked in dangerous factories, and left widows too frequently.

False, the Knights were first and foremost set-up as an insurance group to provide for the widows and orphans. Which to this day is still the best service they provide.

To combat the secret societies was a secondary reason for the organizations founding.

Largest Catholic lay service org in the world, great insurance programs, food and beer.   what's not to like?

Men only.  Nothing as cool as that for the women.  If there was it would be like Girl Scouts, a silly compensation org thats not nearly as cool as the original.

Every man needs a bit of "men only" time.

My traditional Mass community just last weekend had a big "men's recollection", where we all got together with beer, Father gave a great talk on masculinity, then we ate meat and watched the Superbowl.

He blessed the beer too, with the traditional blessing from the Rituale. :proud:
