Iacobus, what genres do you like?

I'm sure there are one or two learned women here who can point you in the right direction of female authors...... ;)

:D

Flannery O'Connor . . . great writer. But some of her stories are just . . . weird. Especially A Good Man is Hard to Find -- I mean, what an ending!

As for Jane Austen, some people love her, some people hate her. But I'm glad that you're reading -- i mean, listening to -- Pride and Prejudice, Iacobus. It's a good story and it's very funny. And I'm glad you're going to watch the five hour movie too. :rolling:

Other good female writers . . . Agatha Christie is good. J.K. Rowling -- but you don't like Harry Potter. I can't think of any more that I like at the moment.

I have to admit, I love the dead British male writers too: Tolkien, Chesterton, Dickens, Lewis . . . .
I just wanted to say that I am reading a book written by a female. I can't stand it, lol. Women can't write, hehe. But I am at least giving one a chance. So there Colleen and ESP! Vera, lol. I opened my tastes beyond British male authors, lol.

Kinda. LOL.
Dorthy Sayers  is an English author :)

Throw Jane Austen in the fire place (since burning trash in your fire place is still legal) and read Flannery O'Connor.
