It is so funny how people from the South react to snow. The whole town closes down for a couple of inches of snow.
Here in Michigan and elsewhere people are driving and doing things. In snow storms even

We don't have salt or sand trucks, snow shovels, oe mittens. Snd it wss oonly a dusting. Sn inch would kill us.

I see why snow would be such a huge problem for you.

If it makes you feel any better I spent part of Christmas break freezing in Michigan...

I am in Michigan too and it is pretty cold here.

Any school kid in their right mind would still want snow!!!

we used to get up on winter mornings and listen to the radio to hear all the school closings. we cheered for

joy when we heard our school called.

with the snow comes the ice and the cold and the wind. think you still want snow?

Well considering that I'm from Texas and that snow is a rare commodity here, I wouldn't mind it. I actually want to migrate to a colder environment when I go to college because after living in Texas 100+ degree heat for 18 years, I'd rather be in the cold.

Well... we have had snow that stuck twice in my lifetime... when I was about 7 (and it terrified our

Dachshund!) and once when I was a young adult... I was living with a bunch of roommates, and we were so excited we went out in our night clothes and threw snow balls. First snow many of us had seen that was THAT MUCH snow....

How rare is it... welll... and the fact that we got a dusting made the New York Times and Time Magazine two years ago!

Here is a Brief history of snow fall here in SF

and this one is just fun....

I'll second the comment about it's more about not being prepared for it combined with HILLS and no snow tires and no snow moving equipment that really makes stuff interesting when we do get some. It doesn't take much to totally shut the place down.....

Where I am (outside the City and a little more elevation) we usually get a dusting each year if it gets cold enough, but it won't stick. But it is fun to experience the occasional flurry....

Sorry for those of you who get more than that in one minute... make that a tenth of a minute... each day for 120 days. I know that is tough to hear....

dominicansoul

i spent my Christmas vacation knee deep in snow. My nose hairs froze and tiny bits of ice continously fell outta my nose. My eyeballs froze and little ice crystals formed in the corner of my eye sockets. my very breath crystalized. I never felt so much pain as when i stuck my bare hands into a snow drift. It was amazing. But that's what happens when you spend time out doors when its -40 Celsius...

I loved it, it was beautiful, and soooo much fun!!! we never get snow where I live. It hasn't snowed substantially since 1985...
