Nihil Obstat
NO. JOSEF FRINGS. And his personal assistant, Fr. Joseph Ratzinger. :) Overruled!
ChristinaTherese
Hmmm.... Here's my list, as a soon-to-be Catholic: 1) Jesus 2) The Eucharist 3) All of the Sacraments 4) Adoration 5) The Saints 6) It's true 7) Religious life 8) It answers very many questions I asked as a child 9) Jesus is calling me there 10) The Eucharist (again, because it just deserves to be mentioned three times in the list)
Basilisa Marie
Overruled! No, Frings won, and his sidekick BECAME THE POPE. Alfredo's sidekick decided to break from the Church. I win. Also more people should care about the Josef-Alfredo throwdown that happened during Vatican II. Seriously, it's like the best part. :) Edited January 10, 2013 by Basilisa Marie

Anastasia13
Trying to come up with reasons not already mentioned: 1. So many awesome rites! 2. Cool prayers! 3. There is something really nice about the tangible reality of eating Christ’s body. 4. Sola scripture is… just lacking something… 5. Humble worship. 6. Personal confession can be healing, and Catholics have it. 7. Even last rites can be supported by scripture. 8. You won’t confuse intellectual assent with living faith. 9. St. Anthony really does help sometimes. 10. Awesomely reasonable education on morality and not really changing it much (listen up, Episcopalian church :glare:) 11. That really cool priest at college and that really wise campus minister before that. 12. I think they gave us the Just war theory 13. Not complete pacifists when it comes to defending life, abortion but also other things. 14. You have church seasons throughout the year. 15. Church structure reflects Biblical traditions better than Bible only churches tend to end up in (unless they are the types to lose their morality). 16. Historic missions efforts. 17. Reflects a number of Jewish traditions-the origins of Christianity. 18. When you do more as a part of an organized religion than just make a decision to believe, it serves as a reminder that you represent the Kingdom of Heaven. 19. Letting your light shine isn’t primarily about a Four Spiritual Laws booklet. 20. Catholic Eucharist host that appeared to bleed and which scientific analysis seemed to indicate was blood. 21. Sometimes Apostolic faith just seems more like tangible truth and is reassuring in that way of ones place in it. 22. Catholic faith shows the Spirit in our lives, not just in a moment of decision. 23. If you are Catholic, you are almost the same as my church. 24. If you are a Catholic, you can marry an Armenian Orthodox, but non-traditional mainstream Christians cannot. Then again, didn't Catholics compile the bible? Part of the Church that gave us scripture. Basilisa Marie
So you would rather be wrong and winning? :| Sounds like you're a sore loser. And isn't Josef Frings' former aid the one who is currently running around trying to get people to do more Tridentine Liturgy and all that stuffs your flavor of Catholic likes? Seems like it'd be safer to be on his side. Also Alfredo had his microphone turned off in the middle of one of his speeches during the council because he was just that annoying. :| Seriously, more people need to get in on this. It was totally the best part of 1963, hands down.
