Mary+Immaculate<3
Even if women were allowed to be ordained (which will never happen, because Jesus is meant to be the perfect example priest, while Mary is meant to be mother), why would an 8th grader be wearing a chasuble is beyond me. Men who enter seminary have to go through rigorous study and spiritual direction just to make sure that they're truly called, so women would have to do the same (that is, if you truly supported "gender equality"). As a smart Catholic vlogger said, priesthood isn't a right, it's a gift. If women sincerely believed priesthood was their call, then they too would have to go through at least 7 years of seminary. During that time, the novelty of the "gender equality" would inevitably fade, and they would realize that the priesthood in designed for men. Period. And this whole video points to protestantism, completely.
Papist
I definitely would have to time my monthly confession accordingly.

carmenchristi
Why bother trying to call themselves Catholic, obv if the church is so unfair, the magisterium(and St. Paul) knows nothing and they don't care about being excommunicated, I mean at this point what is the problem? Go start your own church where you don't have to deal with the misogynistic, backwards, medieval, progress-hindering ecclesial institution! You will make my misogynistic life a lot more pleasant! cmaD2006
I definitely would have to time my monthly confession accordingly. a) I pounced on FuturePriest for his sexist remark b) even though I pounced on FP, Papist you got that right! c) those who go to confession weekly would be in TROUBLE and d) you just made me have pity for the (male) priest who DOES have to deal with me in the confessional during those particular times during the month :| .... :P

Because the idea that they would allow a "backwards" church (ie us) to even exist (while they go start their own) is abhorrent to them. "Backward" thinking must be stopped. It's not enough to leave us alone.

PadrePioOfPietrelcino
Or months!! ...depending on how ornate. I worked on a set of altar clothes once and it took me 6 weeks!! Granted I am not the most skilled. But I can only imagine a chasuble would take forever!! (especially with the gold-work that is a torture- for sure!!) I didn't find gold work torture any more than the attention to detail work of any other kind of embroidery. What is so torturous about hold work to you? I'm almost always emotional in confession at ANY time of the month. Last time I went I told myself "oh I'll be fine" and went without tissues wearing non-waterproof liquid eyeliner. Yeah not good, I had to ask the priest for a tissue when I was done. Until I get over this phase I am deliberately going at different times. I think any one priest would get sick of me pretty fast! @HSM Oooooooohhhhhhh!!!! Now I get it! Well that makes perfect sense. So I guess such being the case they should carry on! To Jesus Through Mary
I didn't find gold work torture any more than the attention to detail work of any other kind of embroidery. What is so torturous about hold work to you? The brittleness of the thread, the design I did, and not allowing the thread to touch itself (or it could loose it shine)... perhaps not total torture ;) but none-the-less not as none metallic color. Although I got a new silver thread that I don't think is going to be as difficult. I am excited to try it. My former superior did this one of Our Lady of Lujan for a chasuble, she was a pro and she also didn't like the gold work for the same reasons I mentioned, but it didn't bother her quite as much. Anyways Hers came out soooo beautiful.
Nihil Obstat
How does gold thread work, anyway? I am assuming that it is something more than simply gold wire.
