Any Anime Fans?

This makes so much sense. I like you heretics wonderful people because we share enough of a common worldview/sense of aesthetics/sense of style to dislike anime.  Just like home, at least the one in my head...

But to answer the question in the title, no.

I actually decided to try Cardcaptor Sakura a little while ago. Since it's kind of a classic of late 90s anime, and was pretty influential within the mahou shojou genre, I figured it was worth a shot at least for its historical relevance. I'm quite impressed by it, all in all. The art style is a really solid transition between the 90s and 2000s characteristics, animation quality is rather high, and perhaps most surprising, the story isn't stupid at all.

I prefer the original to the english dub myself. Did you see the original?

You have to read it, its an awesome show, I've never read the books, just watched the shows, the evil guys are based off of the 7 deadly sins too, its a pretty interesting show

Hm. I shall have to check it out :)

I grew up watching some anime when I was as young as four due to my sister, so I am a fan of some. Any anime that was on Adult Swim is pretty much all I know. I am a big fan of Inuyasha, and there are a few others which I like that I cannot remember right now. Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty good, too, though I became disinterested when one of my favorite characters died (The really nice guy with the wife and daughter).

I rarely if ever watch dubs. Plus I have heard terrible things about one of the two Sakura dubs.

I grew up with anime shows being dubbed, so I never notice it. I actually prefer it, to be honest. It's weird hearing their Japanese voices. Plus, for some reason, every Japanese person in anime has a really light voice.

The way I look at it, I want to see the show exactly how the producers intended it. I can't imagine, for instance, watching The Dark Knight Rises with Bane having a different voice. Same thing here.

Also I like the sound of the Japanese language quite a lot.

I like the sound of the Japanese language a lot, too. But it's like they won't let anyone do the voice acting if they don't have an extremely high voice.

At least you don't have the nearly constant vocal fry that you'll get in a current western sitcom. :hehe:

Nelvana destroyed it. The original is the best one. Sakura and Tomoyo are too bossy in the dub.
