God speed Nunsense. It has been a privilege to have gotten to know you thru the pages of the Phorum, and my prayers will join those of all the other PM's, as you wend your way across the world to your final destination. God bless you and keep you.

Dear Nunsense-
I send prayers for easy travel as you return to Wolverhapton. Your generosity in sharing your journey of discernment and abandonment to Christ has been a great gift to me and an inspiration.

May God reward and bless you abundantly and may the Beloved hold you close to his heart in love.

Graciela

PS what are the rules about non- relatives writing to you at Wolverhampton? (not that I am ever very good at letter -writing, but who knows what strange conversion experience may come upon me in the New Year....)

Happpy Landings, Nunsense.  I too have been lurking on your threads for quite a while, and am happy for you that your heart has found its home.  May you be there until the end of your road.  Blessings, peace, and prayers.

This note probably comes too late, but I'm praying for a safe and uneventful journey for you. (An enjoyable or relaxing journey would be better, but is asking for a miracle nowadays.) I am very envious that you will be making your home in England. I am a true Anglophile and wish I had a good reason to move to England. (I wouldn't mind the weather in England--it's still better than Chicago.)

Like the others, I am praying (and believe) that Wolverhampton will be YOUR Community. I don't say it often enough, but I think of you and pray for you often. I will especially be praying for you as you enter Wolverhampton on Jan 1. What a perfect day! It's not only the start of a new year (and a new life for you), but also the feast of Mary, the Mother of God.

You always have a home here, too and we would love to hear from you if you ever have permission to log in. In any case, I think you said earlier that a friend of yours would be keeping us up to date on how you're doing, so we'll be waiting eagerly for her reports.

Over the past few years, we've learned a lot from you, not the least of which is the lesson of perserverence.

I was going to end this with "God be with you," but he is with you already.

Thank you everyone for all your good wishes and I wish all of you a wonderfully blessed New Year. God has been most kind to me. I am in Bangkok after a 9 hour flight and will soon get on a flight to London for another 11 hours. So far, this has been the nicest flight I have ever been on, and that is because I have been able to travel Business Class from Melbourne (two class cabin) and will be in First Class to London. all of this thanks to United Airlines (although I am flying Thai today because United doesn't do the Asia route and Thai is their partner). When I was delayed in San Francisco travelling back home to Australia last time, the flight was cancelled after 2 hours on the runway because one of the doors wouldn't close. I waited 18 hours in the airport for another flight, so they gave me tons and tons of frequent flyer miles in compensation. This gave me enough FF miles to pay for a First Class ticket to London. I could never afford 1st class if I was paying for it, so this is most amazing really.

Because the last flight didn't have a 1st Class, I was in Business but I don't know how 1st could be better (we will see I guess) - it was fantastic and the seat reclined so I could sleep and well, everything was marvellous. When I got to Bangkok, I was picked up by an airline rep in a mini bus that drove me to the transit area and I was escorted first through security and then driven in a little electric cart to the 1st Class Lounge where I am now - and everything is free, drinks, food, Internet etc, and even a massage if I want it.I can't explain how luxurious it feels to someone who is always going everywhere on the cheap. I feel like someone made me a Princess for a day.

Anyway, it is all a bit of joke when you think about it - going from this to the bare cell of Carmel with the empty Cross on the wall! :) I only decided to use all my miles and choose 1st Class because 1) I hope never to need them again and 2) I wanted seats that laid down so I could sleep on such a long flight-- but I didn't expect all the rest of it!  So, next stop London. I can't decide whether to go have a shower now or a massage???

I was on the airplane when midnight arrived (Melbourne time) and for me it is 2013 but here in Bangkok they are 4 hours behind Melbourne so the New Year still hasn't arrived yet. I get 2 New Year's Eves. Fascinating.

May God's love and blessings be with you all and thanks again for all the kind words and good wishes.

I am so so happy you had a little luxury on your journey, if anyone deserved it, it is you Nunsense.......

He gave you a final parting gift from the world in preparation for the solitude and joyful silence of Carmel, personally, I find that totally appropriate!

Strikes me Jesus is giving you a 'honey-evening' :)

The only time I have ever flown either business or first class was on my honeymoon.  MY husband had racked up enough frequent flyer miles for the upgrades (he had volunteered for EVERY delayed boarding for years to save them up.... and also had a few probs with airlines that like you were compensated with miles), so it was awesome.  Dear sister... business is nice, but good grief, you will not believe first class!

Having said that... you remind me of St. Clare putting on her best dress only to have Francis remove it and cut off her hair to clothe her in the finery of Lady Poverty - a patched, rough robe and rope.   Needless to say, we want YOU to get the Carmelite habit, but I love the parallel...  you will be able to truly give something up for Him!   And have a wonderful story to tell to future discerners--but the ones who come to the Carmel, not to us!

Dear Sister, already said my peace on the last thread.... we will continue to meet you with Jesus in prayer, and trust that 'the Lord who has begun this will bring it to perfection.'   Godspeed......

In His Heart....

Reminds me of a story of St Therese.  I believe it was for her clothing day - she had wished for snow and woke up to find the courtyard covered with snow.  God takes such good care of us.

It is just before 7am here in Wolverhampton and I am going to make this short as I am starving and want to go find some breakfast. I will write again later this afternoon. I arrived in London about 24 hours ago and then had two wait 2 hours for my 4 hour coach trip to Wolverhampton.By the time I arrived at the hotel I was more than a little tired, even though First Class was out of this world and the seat that turned into a bed was beautful. I don't sleep all that well on planes though, especially if there is turbulence, which there was from time to time. I don't even like roller coasters!

So as soon as I got to the hotel, I showered and hopped into the pajamas that Thai Airways had given me, and crawled into bed (well, after updating my status yesterday). I slept pretty much straight through from yesterday around 5pm until 6:30am today. I feel tired in body still and a little achy but not tired in mind, and I am ready to eat and take a nice long walk to stretch out the body kinks.

Catch you all later. Thanks to God for a really good flight and for getting me safely here. It's always nice when His will is the same as mine! :)

Indeed, God speed - and my prayers are with you too, nunsense.

It is comforting when God's Will and ours coincide, huh!
