inperpetuity
Speaking of Solesmes: Clear Creek Abbey has just completed the first English translation of the French original of Light and Strength, the biography of Mother Cécile Bruyère, spiritual daughter of Dom Prosper Guéranger, abbot of Saint-Pierre of Solesmes, Foundress and first abbess of Sainte-Cécile of Solesmes. Now English speakers can come to know the story of this remarkable contemplative nun whose doctrine and influence continue to guide and give growth to the nuns of the Solesmes Congregation. Find the book at: clearcreekmonks.org/news.html I hope I didn't just hijack your thread EJ..

She and Dom Guéranger need to be canonised.

Starets
I found Gueranger's Religious and Monastic Life Explained to be very helpful in my own formation. It would be good for anyoone to understand what the life of a Solesmes monk is expected to be. Gueranger used it with his novices

It would be good for anyoone to understand what the life of a Solesmes monk is expected to be. Gueranger used it with his novices I read that on my live-in (I visited the Solesmes nuns in England) and it is fantastic. His work on the Immaculate Conception is also brilliant.
