PhuturePriest
That's nothing. Back in his day, my dad used to race muscle cars. In the seventies he went over a hundred and fifty with what I think was a Mustang, and that was on a public road.
r2Dtoo
A Mustang can go over 150?
PhuturePriest
A Mustang can go over 150? It may not have been a Mustang, but speedometers do not actually tell you the maximum speed. Or so says my dad that is a car genius, anyway.
Winchester
My dad drove faster than your dad. Whilst running from the cops.

StMichael
Muscle cars of until 1970 could achieve speeds in excess of 150. Downside was suspension and tires for the novice, especially. Once the EPA kicked in, car companies started lying about horsepower and top speeds to keep the government off their backs, then of course the gas crisis of 1973 forever changed muscle cars period for some 25 years. So called muscle cars of the 80's were anemic with under 200 HP. The Shelby Mustang, known as the poor man's Ferrari, was easily able to surpass 150. Boss 302, Boss 429 with NOx could. Today you can buy a Mustang that exceeds 200 mph and the Camaro ZL1 has been clocked at 202 mph, this is stock.
