Annie12
I'm 20 years old but often times I feel like I'm way younger. It's not how I act or how I present myself. But, I just put everyone above me which lead me to feel like a kid. The weird thing is that I was in the store just yesterday and a cashier called me "ma'am" and I heard her but it didn't even register that she was talking to me because I've always been treated like a kid. So, what should I do to feel older because right now I do not feel my age. How does the spiritual life come into play with this situation?

Papist
I don't believe the spiritual life has a play here. And as hsmom says, enjoy it. I still am.

To Jesus Through Mary
You won't be young or even perceived as young forever. Unless your Papist of course.... Enjoy the state of life you are in because you never get to repeat it.

Basilisa Marie
I'm 24 and often get mistaken for an 18 year old. Although it's nice to know that I'm youthful and will probably be carded when I'm 40, it gets frustrating sometimes. If you want to be perceived as a bit older, try to have your clothes reflect it, and/or wear some light makeup. I almost always get better service if I look "put together" than if I wear the T shirt and jeans I normally wear. But what's more important than either of those things is portraying self-confidence. If you can be at peace with who you are right now, and speak and act confidently to others, people will treat you like you're "older." :)
FutureCarmeliteClaire
People think I'm a lot older than I am. If my whole family goes out they ask if we want separate checks. I've been asked if I'm the mother of my siblings, and thought I was the wife of my father. The grass is always greener on the other side, I guess... Haha! At an old job, in conversation with a customer I mentioned I was graduating. His response was "oh, high school?" Smh.
