Oh, shush. 5'5/6" is not that bad.

Of course it's not. That's how tall HSDad is... and you're probably still growing. He's not. ;)

Haha. I'm sixteen, so I would like to think I am still growing. However, I have never had a growth spurt, so I would not be surprised if I just grew a few more inches and that was it.

A couple more inches puts you at exactly average, so nothing to be ashamed about there.
I was projected to break six feet, but I stopped just short because I was sick for so long.

My dad thinks I'll be 5'11", but I think he's been eating colorful mushrooms.

If you get really muscular nobody will care if you are short. My junior high math teacher was only about 5'7'', but hardly anyone even noticed because his biceps were as big around as an elephant's leg. Instead everyone talked about how he was not able to touch his own shoulders.

Not really. He was one of the friendliest and least self-assuming teachers I have ever met.

Never assume, it leads to assumptions.

my tactic is to be a good friend through good and bad, and hope that this nonsense ends as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Just don't let it get to this point:
