ToJesusMyHeart
I'm going! Bought my plane ticket last night! Who else is going to be there? Jan 9-13th, WHOOP! This is my 2nd official Come and See (plus a Nun Run). The first was with the Sisters of Life, and it was beautiful and amazing. I feel very drawn there. I'm going on a few more Come and See visits to make sure my attraction to the S.V.'s is the unparalleled, but I am most certainly still open to whatever the Lord wills. :)
Kateri89
Ahhhh I want to go! I went to their Come and See retreat in March this year and loved them  I would've gone on the retreat with the Sisters of Life last month if my flight hadn't gotten cancelled at the last minute. So I don't know if I would've loved the SOL as much as the NDs but I will give you a tip: Either bring your own pillow or be prepared not to sleep with one. The pillows they had were so thick and solid that it was more comfortable to sleep without them. Also be careful during recreation time with the sisters. One girl broke her ankle the day we got there while she was playing soccer with them. All that aside, you will have a wonderful time! Listening to them sing, especially during Divine Office, is so hauntingly beautiful :nunpray:

I went to their Come and See retreat in March this year and loved them  I would've gone on the retreat with the Sisters of Life last month if my flight hadn't gotten cancelled at the last minute. Try to make another retreat with the SOL! I can't remember how many times I cried at that retreat. Cried in a good way. :) So I don't know if I would've loved the SOL as much as the NDs but I will give you a tip: Either bring your own pillow or be prepared not to sleep with one. I wonder if that's part of their vow of poverty--to only have minimalist pillows. The Sisters of Life had regular pillows. I will be careful during recreation! With the SOL, we just went on a walk and/or played ultimate frisbee if you wanted, but I'm not super athletic myself, so I chose the beautiful walk. I'm super excited to pray with them and hear them sing. I usually get kind of intimidated when I hear nuns sing, because I can NOT sing as high or as beautifully as they sing, but I've been told several times that beautiful singing is not an entrance requirement, PHEW! :hehe2:
Catholicterp7
Don't worry about that! :) I think if you become Dominican God has a special grace for singing beautifully that only comes once you're there! :P When I went to visit the Dominican Nuns in Farmington Hills the first time one of the Sisters made a comment about how Sister so-and-so is the only one with a good voice. When I went to chant afternoon prayer with them it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I'll be praying for you! ToJesusMyHeart
How many?
MissScripture
Deus_te_Amat is a postulant this year. At least one of the novices this year was on Phatmass, possibly 2, but I don't remember for sure. No one in the 1st year black veils is, but one or two who are "older" than that were on PM, too.
