lilac_angel
I've heard talk that there's a likelihood that there will be a draft, and it could happen in 2005...and this time, it'll include females. :\ It's been said that there is talk among reputable sources. Someone, please say it ain't so! I came across a link to this discussion here through one of my nervous livejournal friend's entries. He's a smart guy, so it worries me when he gets nervous about something. Edited May 24, 2004 by lilac_angel

Phazzan
A draft is exactly what America needs, to toughen up all the left wing straggly haired softc@wks a.k.a. Michael Moore, who keep polluting your minds with their leftist bullcr@p. Sorry to be so direct.

Cause others will look at that and be like, "Hey look at the sissy Christian." No I'm not calling you a sissy, just giving you an example. But just look at it this way, if you're meant to go to war, God will bless it and keep you safe. If not, He'll block the way, and you won't get drafted. So just trust in Him dude, and know His Voice, you'll be fine

lilac_angel
Considering that the Pope was against the recent US involvement, I don't think it's that weird not to want to go to war... Mary told us to pray for peace, and is it that odd not to want to be forced to die in some evil war if you have just causes of your own to fight for (that don't take bloodshed)? Plus, most other causes don't leave your loved ones widows/widowers. Not all of us are fighters in the warring sense. Some have talents that are better put to use in other places. A draft that picks at random, even the not-very-well equipped, isn't just, in my opinion. Edited May 24, 2004 by lilac_angel

Cesar624
What if you refuse to fight? What if someone says that they seriously can't mentally take it all in, all the killing and danger and stuff? Would they just put you behind a desk somewhere in like an embassy or something? I'm not too sure on how this works.

Guest
why should you go to war though when God tells you not to kill and im only talken about if you do not want to go to war but if you do not want to, i dont think you should be forced to go into war, a war that the pope does not even support....i know war must come, but im not about world domination, nor will i ever be
Brother Adam
You can claim CO status. If you do you must take a job which will in some way aid in a positive manner towards the countries efforts (working in a veteran home, hospital, that type of thing). If you claim CO towards combat, you can get a non-combat position, but you may still end up overseas.
