Is there anyone who has the ability to record a TV program to a CD?   I really need this for my secular order community.... we have it on VHS but a few people don't have access to cable or vhs player...

I'd be happy to recompense someone for the trouble.

Sorry about ths short notice... just found out it is on.   AND IT IS A GREAT PROGRAM BY THE WAY!!!!

If you have it on VHS it should be possible to convert it to DVD. Sadly I don't have any equipment to do video work or I'd help out. I also can't pick up EWTN here.

ARFink, thanks for trying on this....

I've tried to record from EWTN and I can't get it to work.   I'd try another program to see if you can get it done.

We'll duplicate the video if we have to, but it would be better if we can just get a recorded copy.  If you can get it, pretty isn't required. Just view-able....

Blessings for trying!

I like to give people plenty of time (sorry!) -- usually EWTN runs this on the 14th & 15th... nearly screamed when i saw it was today.  We've been trying to snare this for 3 years now...

I have to be somewhere tonight, and couldn't get my recording software working properly in time. Sorry AnneLine! I can't get it.

HOWEVER, if you have a working VHS and want it converted, that I might be able to help with. Sorry again I didn't have my stuff ready in time.

Not to worry, ARFink.

Yes I DO have the VHS tape.

And no rush.

God provides.... possibly even a better outcome....

I'm watching it now on the computer but I can't see anyway to download it or copy it. do you think EWTN could send you a copy of it if you paid them? Or they might show it again as a recorded program online? I don't know how they work. I know that I don't get EWTN TV here in Melbourne but I do have online access to live programs. Sorry I can't help.

Thanks for trying, NunSense... we've already tried recording off internet and contacting EWTN.  Grrr.

I think ARFink and I have got a solution in the works....  It's a great program - Fr. Buckley really knows his stuff.   It's just hard for the newer members who don't have VCRs any longer, but we want them to have access to the info.

God provides.....

He is my favorite male saint and Teresa my favorite female saint, but together they are just the most amazing combination. That God brought these two great saints together is so beautiful. They sort of balance and complement each other so well.

I hope it all works out for you to get this recording - it was a good program (just ended). thanks for letting us know about it. I don't watch much online programming so I didn't know it was coming - and would have missed it completely if not for your post!

If EWTN posts it on Youtube, I can get you a digital copy or actually maybe even get it onto a DVD for you.

Does it exists somewhere online?

If it streams, I may be able to "get it."  And then convert to a DVD.

Ok, here's the story.... I know Fr. Buckley.  He is an AMAZING, saintly Carmelite!

As far as the program.... The original tapes were owned by a woman who has since passed away (the phone number at the end of the EWTN presention used to belong to her.... about 30 years ago.)   Her family gave the tapes to "Mother Angelica", not realizing that it would have been better to have given them to him.   The EWTN people are not open to giving them back -- we've tried.... individuals have GONE there to ask about this... we're being uh, stonewalled.  Happens sometimes.  Possibly it is connected with the general disorganization over there while they are doing their transitions...

I'm not judging anyone.... just is a real pain to not be able to get the tapes to the people who need them and would PAY for them.  There's the irony!

I promised Fr. Buckley -- who is now in his 90's -- that I would do what I could do to get them back and ideally onto youtube.  He's all in favor and actually looked very excited that it might happen... we just have to figure out how to do this.

I agree... if we can get it into a DVD format, we can upload it.

Not sure why, but the EWTN stream doesn't seem catch-able.  Both Nunsense and I have had the same experience.  If you want to try I think it will be on again in the middle of the night tonight.... but all that is left now is Part II.   But, Eagleeye, if yo ucan figure out HOW to do it... we can get it next year if ARFink can't figure it out before that.

Long range planning..... hopefully before Fr. Buckley has to arrange for it from Heaven....

Has Father Buckley asked for a copy for himself and friends? They might be open to that, even if they don't want to let anyone put it on Youtube. It seems that Christian charity would motivate them to give him back a copy of tapes that he is narrating!!!

He had tapes... he sold them to people FOREVER... but he never dreamed he couldn't get more... and the last are gone.

I don't think the sisters care about Youtube... I think EWTN just doesn't want to be bothered.

I'm trying not to judge... but it does seem sad.

Best solution I can see is to come up with a 21st century solution.  I think it would make Father VERY happy to be able to see his video on Youtube.... that seems do-able... Phatmassers know how to do stuff like this.

This is probably the best 'fly under the radar' solution.  But it is irritating.
