Noises

There are little things that make my skin crawl, like gritting teeth, or the weird squeaky sound of someone biting fabric, but nothing quite as bad as what you guys are describing.

I've never noticed squeaking noises when people bite fabric. Then again, I can't remember the last time someone near me bit fabric.

There are, and certain fabrics are worse than others. It may also depend on how they are biting against it... I dunno. I just know there is a sound and it's horrible.

I feel violent whenever I hear the sound of chewing gum. But I'm not sure it's the same thing.

You try ibuprofen? Might be a slight earache.

chewing gum is really gross, chewing gum I hate the most

Annoying noises don't bother me. I almost never notice them, and when I do they do not bother me anyway and I easily block them out if I want.

Growing up in a really noisy household has made me very resistant to noises. Actually, I often work better in a noisy environment than a quiet one. I am usually not bugged by any particular noises either. The one I will agree with though is chewing. Every once in a while someone's chewing just bugs me so much. And always bugs me if they are reading or hovering over my shoulder while chewing. Gross.

I get a noise in my ear from time to time.  My doctor says it because of all of the concussions that it damaged some nerve there that decides to fool around now and again.

I am tone sensitive.  My biggest issues are leaf blowers (sounds like a big bug), weed eaters, timers going off on fryers, alarms buzzing or going off, and loud chewing.  There are others, as well, but these that I listed are the worst.  My mom used to get after me for being so nit-picky about sounds until my dad got hearing aids and the audiologist explained to her that the problem could be that my eardrum vibrates more than it should.  I also have ringing in my ears for days at a time (tinnitus).  I can't use earplugs very often because my ear canal is rather narrow so it hurts to put them in and leave them in.  Sometimes, they will just pop out on their own.

Also, I sometimes don't hear very well.  If something is lower in tone, I probably won't hear it.  I hear all sorts of very high pitched sounds which drive me crazy and make my ears hurt.  :(

One time an ENT doctor thought I had an acoustic neuroma but did an MRI and found nothing.  Sometimes, I can actually feel my eardrum vibrating.
