Nihil Obstat
Vodka is so boring. :( If I am going to drink, I want something with personality.
Spem in alium
Vodka is so boring. :( If I am going to drink, I want something with personality. Okay, you're officially my best friend. I enjoy Scotch and am partial to Bruichladdich. Favourite would probably be Macallan, though. Favourite would probably be Macallan, though. My dad gave me that particular bottle on my birthday. :proud: I am trying to drink it very slowly. So far, I think my favourite whisky overall has been The Yamazaki. But Laphroaig so far wins in terms of sheer personality.

Anastasia13
Its gross >_< Never become Russian Orthodox or Armenian Orthodox/Apostolic. An Armenian can out-drink a Russian, and vodka is part of the culture.

I don't mind Laphroaig, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas. The Macallan Gran Reserva is a favourite for me. My dad was keeping a bottle for a "special occasion" and opened it for me just before I left on exchange :) It's beautiful.

Yamazaki is a Japanese brand, one of the brands in which the distillery was consciously trying to imitate the Scottish style. I think specifically the Islay style for the Yamazaki, but I always forget which area is which. I think I have had Macallan once or twice. I recall quite liking it. Very smooth. I'll have to see if I can get it someplace. Wikipedia is good for the regions - I can never remember them myself. Oh yes, it's very smooth. I prefer smoother whiskies, and also ones where you can really detect the flavours of the fruits and barrel.

That reminds me of a really great one I tried once. I forget the name because it was a bottle of my dad's, but it had a really pronounced toffee taste. Really lingered in the mouth. It was excellent. I will have to try to find it again someday.

Yes, I think you may be correct about the vanilla. That sounds amazing; I like trying new brands and being surprised by different flavours.
