He Came http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u65m__-LLfs PRAYER TIME: Spend a few moments in prayer just remembering Who is coming…. and thinking about what YOU want/need to do to prepare for Him! Reflections on the Incarnation…. A poetic rosary for the Advent and Christmas seasons taken from St. John of the Cross' The Romances - on the Gospel In Principio erat Verbum, (Regarding the Most Blessed Trinity) and the Holy Scriptures (Collected works of St. John of the Cross, Trans. Kieran Kavanaugh, OCD and Otilio Rodriguez, OCD, ICS Publications, 1991) _____________________________________________ 2...............The Trinity of Love _____________________________________________ 1 One love in them all / Makes of them one Lover ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:8a 2 And the Lover is the beloved / In whom each one lives ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:8b 3 For the being that the three possess / Each of them possesses; ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:9a 4 And each of them loves / Him who bears this being; ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:9b 5 Each one is this being / Which alone unites them ...................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:10a 6 Binding them deeply / One beyond words ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:10b 7 Thus it is a boundless love that unites them, / For the three have one love which is their essence ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:11a 8 And the more love is one / The more it is love. ....................John of the Cross, Romances, 1:11b 9 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, / ... that the world might be saved through him. ....................John 3:16a, 17b 10 We have come to know and to believe / in the love God has for us. ....................1 John 4:16a A Virtue to develop for today: Purity of Heart Mary was conceived immaculate in body and soul by the Blessed Trinity. Their love prepared in her the perfect place for Jesus to become man. Mary can help us to learn to keep our hearts and minds focused on Jesus during Advent. A practical way to work on these virtues…. * Spend a few moments just looking at your world. * Most of us admit very quickly.... that our world is NOT immaculate! * Find one or more spots that could use some extra attention -- decluttering, straightening, beautifying * Spend about 15 minutes doing something to make your world more inviting. * As you do the task, ask our Lady to help you to make your own heart more inviting to her Son, and more single-heartedly focused on His coming within you this Christmas. And because this, too, is part of preparing for the coming of Jesus…. A FUN VIDEO TO WATCH: I first found The Digital Story of the Nativity on Phatmass two years ago.... Last year I found this 'backstory' version, and I think you might enjoy it! Case: The Digital Story of Nativity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMKS4tbpdeU May the Virgin and her Loving Child bless all of us!!!!
