birschraz
We were in Rome June of 2012, and I saw the most beautiful nun in full habit on a bridge, she had a buttermilk yellow habit on with a long veil, even her rosary with big beads was buttermilk yellow. Can some one let me know the name of her order. I almost thought she was the Virgin Mary, she was so pretty! Thank You, Laura Birschbach

linnie
I saw the yellow habits when I was in Rome 5 years ago too. I never could find out who they were

the171
It might have been the Poor Nuns of Jesus and Mary?
Chiquitunga
here's a Loretto Sister with a yellow habit, although it's not as you described, http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_20879698/colorado-sisters-loretto-celebrate-300-years-service thought I'd share though :proud:

AnneLine
Chiqui and Mater, I don't think the Sister in yellow is the Loretto Sister - they don't wear habits. From the text below the photo, I think the Sister in Yellow is Sr. Emily, who is VISITING with the Loreetto Sisters. Rebecca Sallee, center, who works in the Loretto sisters' central office, visits with Sister Mary Kenneth, right, during a luncheon Wednesday to celebrate the order's 200th jubilee. Sister Emily Owusu-Ansah is visiting with the Loretto sisters from Ghana.(Kathryn Scott Osler, The Denver Post) I'm NOT open to starting a habit debate again, but I think we need to get our facts straight in case someone comes here looking for info. I'd be curious to know which African community wears those however, so this is indeed a lead!
Chiquitunga
most likely it is not, as she described it a bit differently, but thought I'd post anyway .. I think this is the only yellow habited Sister I've ever seen .. pretty neat! :like: I hope we find those yellow Sisters in Rome though ... :detective: edit: the phorum is only posting part of my posts again, ahhh Edited December 9, 2012 by Chiquitunga
Chiquitunga
Thanks AnneLine! I was thinking maybe she was a Loretto Sister in Ghana visiting the Loretto Sisters here. But you're right, she is not. Here's the community, http://www.lorettocommunity.org/mission-work/global-loretto/sister-community-with-the-holy-family-sisters-in-guatemala/ Daughters of the Most Blessed Trinity I don't think the Sister birschraz saw in Rome was from this community though .. Edited December 9, 2012 by Chiquitunga

OnlySunshine
The Sister posted with the Loretto community is from the community called the Daughters of the Most Blessed Trinity. :) http://www.lorettocommunity.org/mission-work/global-loretto/sister-community-with-the-holy-family-sisters-in-guatemala/sister-community-ghana-2/
