"FINALLY!!! The moment you've all been waiting for! Leonie! is now available on DVD, just in time for Christmas! There are 2 ways to order a copy: 1.) Contact St. Cyril and Methodius Church at (586) 726-6911, 2.) Contact Barbara Middleton at (586) 781-6051 or barbaramm@sbcglobal.net The DVDs are selling for $25."

Some have said the production, acting, etc wasn't great or whatever and miss the whole point!  I think it is great people are doing their best to make good movies on our Catholic saints and holy religious - just more great movies for kids to see besides the crap that is being made in theaters and on TV!

Here is the "Leonie!" film trailer, http://www.leoniefilm.com/, that is on the life of Leonie Martin, blood sister of St. Therese of Lisieux, who entered religious life (after 4 tries) into the Visitation monastery in Caen, France. This movie - the monastery portion was shot at the Visitation Monastery in Toledo (http://www.toledovisitation.org/) .

Thank you so much for sharing! I am very glad I saw this as Leonie has been an inspiration to me in many ways in my own faith life.

Is Leonie a Venerable or Blessed? I had no idea she was so famous as to have a movie made of her!

I SAY WE MOVE TO CANONIZE THE ENTIRE MARTIN FAMILY. WHO'S WITH ME? :smile3:

I completely agree!  I really relate to Leonie Martin because of her difficult life, but it stinks that she is not Venerable or Blessed yet.  :(

I can't wait to see this movie!

Guess What???!!!! Some of the films were shot in a LOCAL Visitation Monastery!!!!

Yes, it was filmed at the Toledo Visitation monastery - the people in the habits are ACTORS, not the nuns!  This below is from the Toledo Visitation monastery's website:

"Leonie!" Filmed at Our Monastery

Leonie%20filming.jpg

With the permission of our Bishop, Holy Trinity Apostolate came to film some scenes from the movie "Leonie!" The film is based on the life of Leonie Martin, one of the sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Leonie had a difficult childhood and after several attempts was professed a Visitandine at our monastery in Caen, France. Pictures depict the shooting and the cast and crew relaxing between scenes.
Please pray as they are still looking for a distributor. We were blessed to see the finished film in July.
