Mine is the Archangel Gabriel, cuz I study communication, and he's the patron saint of "communicators" (which, technically, is all of us!).

AveMariaPurissima

Mine is a picture I found somewhere of a statue of the Blessed Mother holding roses.  Because Mary's my Mama and she's beautiful -- and roses are lovely too!

Sponsa-Christi

Mine is the Agnus Dei, because consecrated virgins "follow the Lamb wherever He goes." (cf. Revelation 14:4)

The Lamb also has His side open, because there is some symbolism with Christ's wounded side and the creation of the Bride of Christ, the Church. I.e., Christ is the new Adam, and His bride is taken from the redemptive suffering inherent in His open side, just as Eve was created from Adam's rib. (This is sounding a lot more complicated written down than it was in my head!)

I feel like your avatar affects people's perception of you and your posts. I recognize posters more by their avatar than their username, and how it looks affects the tone and quality of I see their posts and their personality. It does the same for me- my tone sounds different in my head depending on what  different avatars project onto the post.

Not to long ago I had a cool purple cartoon character, Raven, but her face was to mean looking so even though I liked the design it had to go. I went back to my old broElsa avatar, which makes me sound chill, but that wasn't doing it for me either. I've been watching Legend of Korra recently and although the main character's really immature, she has a strong personality and looks cute. So I google searched until I found one of her with clear resolution and where she was looking engaged and confident- but not confrontational or in fight mode. Hence, this one.

This reminds me of when one guy user got voted "Princess of Creepy Aliens (a subforum that no longer exists)" because he had a girl video game character for his avatar.

Oremus Pro Invicem

HOC EST ENIM CORPUS MEUM.

The words of the Consecration of the Host:

FOR THIS IS MY BODY.

After pronouncing the words of the Consecration, the priest, kneeling, adores the Sacred Host; rising, he elevates It. -- Look up at the Sacred Host, with faith, piety, and love, saying: "My Lord and my God." -- and then placing It on the corporal, again adores It. After this he never disjoins his fingers and thumbs, except when he is to take the Host, until after the washing of his fingers.

Mine is "Kissing the Face of God" by Morgan Weistling, (a protestant painter...)

This painting was first inspired by a song that I heard one day. I started to contemplate the amesome privilege that Mary was given, being able to hold God in her arms, but also keeping in mind that He was still her baby. This cute little child whom she bore was also God in the flesh. And yet, she cuddled and kissed Him, just as all mothers do with their babies. This thought propelled me right into this painting which I wanted to be a very human representation of divinity. My prayer is that the viewer will be struck, as I am, with the amazing way that God chose to send His Son into this world--in pure humility.

Mine is a picture of my face. My sisters took it. My eyebrow is wrinkled some like I am in thought maybe? IDK it was just what happened. I like people to see my face because it is part of my matter. My matter can change but my form cannot but I don't wish to take on any other type of matter.
