Winchester
My music will be at odds with the title, of course, but please feel free to share whatever unlistenable garbage you're currently letting fill you ears. Or don't. If you don't I will assume you're justifiably ashamed of your tastes.

Nihil Obstat
Gawd, this thread is made for me. When I am not listening to Boccherini, Vivaldi, Palestrina, and Gregorian Chant, these days I am listening to J-Pop and sometimes K-Pop. Also Mongolian folk overtone chanting. Here is a lovely sampling of what makes me happy while I am out driving. Boccherini: Quae Moerebat from Stabat Mater http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBJV5Z4WAh0 Vivaldi: Summer, Spring (with Itzhak Perlman) I prefer Summer, but Itzhak Perlman is excellent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKthRw4KjEg Huun-Huur-Tu: Chiira Khoor (I find this group to be absolutely amazing- the overtone chanting is so impressive.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bDntRWfL70 Now this is where artistic quality takes a nose dive, and I regret absolutely nothing. :proud: Kana Hanazawa: Renai Circulation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnARuSlhUK0 YUKI: Sakamichi no Melody (ignore the stupid video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1ZnEdIaUXA StylipS: Miracle Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBpHKO1sE1I Yui Horie: Blue Rainy Days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkcu6voVzcM Yui Horie: Peppermint Days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBSM5Hxllvs Girls' Generation: Oh! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbwL8kSpEk Girls' Generation: Hoot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4-SxcCO5d0 I am seriously the coolest person in the entire world. Nihil Obstat
Too bad the forum does not allow more than two videos per post. Anyway, since this one is so awesome I am going to post it again. Girls' Generation: Hoot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4-SxcCO5d0 Not sure what is going on with the forum. Will not let me post this video. Sad story. You guys will love it. Edited December 4, 2012 by Nihil Obstat
theculturewarrior
Lately I've been getting into vintage footage of the B 52's. They have a surprising good live act. I bought a CD for my daughter to listen to in the car it is actually pretty edgy with some innuendo unsuited to younger audiences. But when nobody's around, I turn the volume sky high with the bass all the way up and the treble all the way down, and I am sitll sometimes surprised when the dude starts singing about his poodle. But that's what makes life beautiful. I was thinking of painting flowers on my car so there would no mistaking me for a gangster. I could put on the Smiths and be just as safe. Hmmm. They were a fun band. :) As long as one does not look too hard at anything about them deeper than the music itself. Although killing the treble sort of makes it all not worthwhile. :| They mixed it the way they did for a reason.

Nihil Obstat
Nihil, you had me at Mongolian folk. I cannot get past how epic the overtone chanting is. Seriously. Now the AC doesn't work, but I can still deafen myself senseless to numb the pain of marriage and midlife. What you can't hear won't hurt you. Even when the car explodes in a cloud of smoke, my bass will still be upsetting the neighbors. I can't afford a sports car and a younger woman. This is all I got.
