homeschoolmom
the spleen really isnt used that much anymore... it was more important back in the old days when it wasnt so clean and the cooking wasnt looked out for as much
Actually, loosing the spleen can effect your health-- at least from what I understand. I think it depends upon when in life it's lost; the earlier, the more profound the loss. I lost mine as a young adult, but it has had no ill effect on me. I'm around germs all the time and I never get sick. A friend of mine was run over and lost his as a child. He's sick a lot. And from what I've read, this is more common. Cesar624
LMAO - this pole reminded me of a time one of my friends told his teacher that he was going to be out for 2 weeks. She asked him why, and he said that he had to get something removed. He didn't know what to say (he was lying obviously), so he tells her "Oh, my vulva is infected." I WANTED TO DIE! I NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. After I explained to him what a vulva was, he was so embarassed he wanted to transfer schools. LOL - the moral of this story...you should of payed more attention in Biology class and you should never lie. :rotfl:

Moosey
Yep, I still have my useless appendix. I guess God was bored when he created that. I have had an operation on my left hip, I had a staph infection. Dont ask me what that is exactally because I was only 8 when it happened.
