Priest And Knight?

This is more so a prayer request than anything else. So please pray that I follow the path that God has laid out for me no matter what it may be.

That said I have always felt a very strong pull to the Priesthood as long as I can remember. I have in the pass studied various orders and societies even attended retreats. But for reason that will be kept private I choose not to go with them and up until recently gave up on the call. But the call has not ceased. So I am again actively pursuing to answer God's will in this. Because it does seem he wants me to do some greater good some purpose. I cannot tell how many times I have been in moments were I should have died but did not. Compound that with what feels like a call from God and most would at least wonder that God must what me for some great good.

Anyway I am looking at traditional minded orders and societies for the Priesthood, and as a side note preparing to join a traditional order of Knights. I wish not to go into great detail. Because again this is simply a prayer request.

Suggestions of orders or societies that are traditional would be most helpful. Though I may be aware of all of them already.

God Bless!

The Franciscan Brothers Minor and the Benedictine Monks in Clear Creek. It would be harder to find more traditional groups than those.

I'm assuming the association of knights you are entering is one you've mentioned before, if so, would it even be possible to join a separate institute (such as the FSSP or Norcia monks) and still be in the order? Wouldn't you have to become a diocesan priest and be a associated member/chaplain?

Or maybe you can join a different order and still be a associate?

idk, just thinking out loud

To Jesus Through Mary

You will most certainly be in my prayers, and I admire your courage to once again discern!

As for more traditional orders- are you looking for those that mainly celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass?

For the Traditional Latin Mass-
You got Cardinal Burkes Order out in CA, ICK, FSSP, Missionaries of the 3rd World (They celebrate in both forms- and seminary is in Italy), Franciscans of the Immaculate (Fr. Edigo's order), and I there is this one in Italy and I cannot think of the name- but if it comes to be, and there is that one group in PA, but I am not sure if they totally solid or not. Heard mixed things. I will try and think of the name of that one as well.

The other orders that are traditional, but celebrate mainly in the Ordinary form-
The Institute of the Incarnate Word (although they are starting to train their priests in the Traditional Latin Mass), That group Novi is looking into, CFRs, Dominican (I can't remember which providence is the solid one- but I know one is a little woohoo and the other is rock solid- you could probably tell the difference in the website), that group that runs the Divine Mercy Shrine- they are great.

Ok sorry they are not more specific names, but that is just what popped into my head. It is obviously not an exhaustive list. You will be in my prayers.

God bless you!!

From what I recall any traditionally minded priest from any order can join the Poor Knights of Christ.
