Annie12
Are there pro-life organizations that hire people? I have decided I want to go into pro-life work after I graduate from college so I'm trying to figure out what kind of a field I'm looking at... To Jesus Through Mary
It is a hard field to make a living in. Most crisis pregnancy centers services are free so they run on next to nothing. So most of the positions are volunteer positions. It is rare for you to become a senior counselor or staff (in other words get paid) to do that without a couple years of experience under your belt. If you want to start your own center (I highly recommend many years experience prior to that) a non-profit management degree would be helpful. There is the political side of the coin- this normally is a internship type of thing, unless you want to be a politian yourself. I know nothing about all that. There is the maternity home ministry, these usually pay a small stipend plus give you room and board. If you want to start your own the same applies from the CPC. There is some organization in Dallas that has a professional sidewalk counseling team. They pay high school students to do it in the summer. And the only other I know of is in NYC. But there might be others There are of course the medical side of things! Nurses, doctors, sonogram technicians- all of these are desperately needed in the field. These pay a little more, one you find a CPC or organization to get in with. Expect little pay, a long hours, hormonal women ALL the time, emotionally draining days, and crazy co-workers... but the rewards are eternal. And BABIES!!! I love BABIES!
