To consecrate ones self to Jesus through Mary, is a priest required at all. I don't know much about this at all so anything you could tell me about this would be amesome.

A priest is not required, nor is any special formula. There are groups like the MI (militia immaculatae) that offer preparation and have a nice ceremony for the consecration. It's nice to do it that way if you have the option, but it is not at all necessary.

I did mine privately and didn't tell a soul until a year and a half later. I was 12 when I made my Consecration, and I'm so glad I did it. It's a beautiful devotion.

I'm preparing right now for the consecration with the St. Louis de Montfort one. It is a collection of private prayers and meditations, no priest or group necessary, although doing it in a group is certainly helpful with staying on track!

My consecration day was amazing. My title in the consecration is "of St. John and of Christ the High Priest". In that ceremony, the beauty of the priesthood (at least the fatherly aspect) was revealed in a little way. I am so glad that I made my consecration. I really think that making my consecration is what has got me through this year. The first day of school for me was the assumption, aka my consecration day. So many graces have come from my consecration!

Weird? How so? There are all kinds of prayer tool apps.

While the App Store on iTunes brings up more than 300 applications in a search for Catholic, here are a few good choices:
iBreviary: Includes the Roman Missal, including the readings for that particular day, the major hours of the Divine Office for that day, and numerous Catholic prayers. (Free)
Universalis: Like the popular website, includes the complete Liturgy of the Hours within the app with no need to download a particular day’s prayers, Mass readings, liturgical calendar. Purchasing the app gives you access to the Universalis website and other delivery methods. ($24.99, though a free app from Universalis called Catholic Calendar provides limited content)
iMissal: Another Missal app from Cantcha Inc., includes three different Bible translation options, a neat audio option for listening to the Mass readings, and even a selection of Mass videos. ($4.99)
Rosary Miracle Prayer: While there are many excellent Rosary apps, this one from the Daughters of St. Paul rises to the top because it includes audio of the sisters praying the Rosary. ($2.99)
Stations of the Cross: This app from Ave Maria Press includes 14 alternative Bible-based stations introduced by Pope John Paul II in 1991, rather than the traditional stations found in most churches. A Bible verse is connected to each station, as are prayers written by author Amy Welborn and her late husband, Michael Dubruiel. (free)
Saint a Day: A joint venture of Cantcha and the Daughters of St. Paul provides biographies of saints for every day of the year, prayers to saints and a searchable patronage listing. ($1.99)

And there have been more great apps added since.

p.s. - I used the app & a free podcast of the prayers last year when doing the consecration with a facebook group - several of whom were also phatmassers.

The podcast was made by these guys: http://rosaryarmy.ne...m/consecration/
Here's the podcast link: https://itunes.apple...sus/id124343079

And I bought the True Devotion to Mary with Preparation for Total Consecration by St. Louis de Montfort e-book. You can find the ebook for free on various sites.

Good luck!
