I Have Been Quiet.....

I don't remember being sworn to secrecy... :hehe: There's nothing weird going on there, Iggy. It's like most group retreats: there were talks, recreation, prayer, etc. though I won't go into specifics in public because Mon doesn't want it to be spoiled for anyone on accident. I, personally, don't like huge groups of people that much, but I can't complain because I knew there would be a lot of girls there. I'm used to praying the Office differently than they do, but it was also a bit disappointing (though understandable because of the number of people) that they didn't try to include us more in their prayers. They mostly had us sit and listen to them pray the Office. It was also really short; they tried to pack a lot of stuff into very little time. I did enjoy it, but I guess smaller, more personal, quieter retreats are more beneficial for me--probably why I'm discerning the cloister! :nun:

I thought it was a thread about previously being quite... When I was little when ever my kindergarten teacher had about to walk othe halls she would remind us to be as quite as a church mouse.

Thanks Pax, that helps. I was also thrown off by the phrase "Dominican Code." I'd never heard of the "Dominican Code." (Although there is obviously more that I DON'T know than what I DO know.) The phrase made it sound as if was something special to Dominicans in general, rather than simply the way the DSMME's choose to conduct their retreats. Maybe there IS something general to Dominicans called the "Dominican Code" (for all I know) and I was debating to myself whether to ask Sister Mary Catharine about it (as someone who knows a lot about Dominican spirtuality in general and about Dominican discernment). But, I probably won't take her time. I think my questions have been pretty much answered. Thanks, again.
