Mary's Child

Recommended Posts

Looks like a wonderful new foundation with a very impressive website. Congratulations, Mary's Child, and may The Lord and His mother be with you in your coming journey and with many blessings and happy surprises and with The Cross too, in which I pray you will find your Peace and your Joy - and His Cross is never too heavy to carry, always the lightest of burdens: "My yoke is sweet and my burden light".

So I feel like its time for a little bit of an update. After 2 years of discernment and visiting about 5 different communities I was getting more than a little frustrated. Until a few weeks ago when I went to visit another new community. My entire time there was filled with blessings I was so happy and they liked me and invited me back. I may be going for a second longer visit in the beginning of December since Mother invited me and my boss allready gave me the time of. After waiting so long its still hard for me to believe how quickly everything has come together. I know that this is a great blessing and I am so very greatful for this oppertunity. God is good.

Thank you Barbara Therese I am quite excited to be going back. I know there will be many crosses and trials but with the Blessed Mother's intercession and the grace of God I will persevere

Ok I could use a little bit of help with something. Mother asked me to email her my questions. All of a sudden I cant think of any of the things I wanted to ask. What kind of questions should I ask?

What kind of relationship are you pursuing with this community? Is this the pre-application stage for you? It would give a better idea of where you are at and I (or others here) could help you out. :)

Mostly, though, when Superiors ask what your questions are, they want to know if you are curious about anything. You could ask about formation and the different stages. You could ask questions about their apostolate or their charism. You could ask about home visits and family visiting the convent. Just anything that you are curious about.

Yes I am in the pre-application stage. I just ended up sending in some questions about their formation etc. And Mother responded asking if I would like the pre-application form to fill out and bring with me when I come of course I said yes.

A suggestion for the future is when I question comes to you write it down so the next time you email or see Sister you can remember all your questions. It may also be helpful to write down her responses.
