Mary's Child
So I feel like its time for a little bit of an update. After 2 years of discernment and visiting about 5 different communities I was getting more than a little frustrated. Until a few weeks ago when I went to visit another new community. My entire time there was filled with blessings I was so happy and they liked me and invited me back. I may be going for a second longer visit in the beginning of December since Mother invited me and my boss allready gave me the time of. After waiting so long its still hard for me to believe how quickly everything has come together. I know that this is a great blessing and I am so very greatful for this oppertunity. God is good. Rosa immaculata
Dear Mary's child, what a great news for you? What is the community, if it is not a secret? God is rewarding you for your patience and your love for Him by this event! Please, pray for me as I am in the very difficult time of the discernment, where we don't understand anything and where we are assaulted by doubts, questions, and tears! I am discovering that religious vocation makes hugely suffer, but it is the Cross of Christ Itself that touches our soul during this time and it is definitely a blessed time... So, I rejoice myself for you! It makes me think of a sentence of St Clare which says that God makes us happy.... Cantate Domino canticum novum! Mary's Child
Hi! Rosa Immaculata, Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Yes I have been greatly rewarded so far and am completly at peace right now. Of course I would be more than happy to pray for you. I would recommend that you continue to give your discernment time and place your trust in God no matter what happens. There were times that I felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest but if God "breaks our heart" it is only so that he can reform it more in his image and likeness. I hope this helps and keep at it until/unless GOD makes it clear that this is not his will for you. The community is the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa they are a newly founded community http://www.mariansisters.com/
emmaberry101
So happy for you Mary's Child! It is amazing how, for the longest time, nothing seems to be coming together, and then BAM! God hands you a community on a silver platter. Joking, of course, but I identified with your OP. Please keep us updated on how your next visit goes in December! Perhaps the Lord has a very special Christmas gift planned for you concerning this community.

Rosa immaculata
What a marvellous Order! (and habit, marian blue ...), and the charism is very beautiful; I really love this sort of Orders: observant, liking to pray a lot, and joyful! Thank you for your prayers, I loved very much your thought: God reforms our hearts in his image (and the one of the Virgin Mary) after sufferings and purification... It will greatly help me! Emmaberry, I like your answer: the "Bam" and the "silver platter" !! Poor Clares have really the sense of humour! and I think that Gods has humour too! Mary's Child, give us news from your new live-in!!
Mary's Child
Yes Rosa I love their habit especially the blue and the miraculous medal. They are so beautiful yes I love the blend of the old and the new that balance is important. I learned that from experiencing a good deal of suffering and purifying. And yes God has a sense of humor This will not be exactly a live in its only 3 days. But if things keep up the way they are I could come home with an application
Mary's Margaret
Mary's Child: This looks like such a beautiful community with loving support of their bishop. May your journey with them be greatly blessed.

Yes, Poor Clares have a very vibrant sense of humor! It is amazing how, when you find where your supposed to be, you transform more fully into who God wants you to be. I don't know how else to explain it.. It is almost like the right community, just by being around them, will polish you (remember, I have not even entered yet and this has already happened! How much more so inside) and uncover your true brilliancy. A good comparison might be the whole "They make me want to be a better person" that you hear so often from those in love. Perhaps this is happening at the moment with Mary's Child.. Edited November 9, 2012 by emmaberry101

Rosa immaculata
Ave Maria! OK Mary's Child, enjoy this three days the more you can (In French: "profite àmax!", aha!), and I hope you will come back to home with an application! Very good point for the miraculous medal !! Emmaberry I love what you said! This is the continuation of the abundance of graces that God is offering to you for your entrance! and these are unique special and very personal graces!! I guess it is extraordinary for you to feel such a thing and besides, it is a very good sign! Idem for Mary's Child, aha!! Normal, you are in love... with the Christ, and you are going to share this love with your future communities! Praised be Jesus Christ for the holy gifts He is offering for both of you!! IgnatiusofLoyola
Mary's Child--This looks like a wonderful community. And, Santa Rosa, CA not only is a town with a beautiful name, but is a beautiful place to live! (I know that a beautiful place to live was not the most important issue in your discernment--but it doesn't hurt!) It's funny, quite awhile back several of us on VS came up with an imaginary "Community" made of of VS members. Since I'm not an artist, I was never able to draw what I pictured as a possible habit for the imaginary Comunity. To my surprise, the habit of the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa comes the closest to the habit I had pictured of any Community I have seen. (The only difference is that I might have added the short white cape that is part of the habit of many Communities of Dominican Sisters). Again, I know the habit is not the reason for picking a particular Community, but again, it doesn't hurt! It will make you so happy to put on that beautiful habit every day--and might make some of the inevitable hard times easier. Most of all, I liked your comment that, ".....There were times that I felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest but if God 'breaks our heart' it is only so that he can reform it more in his image and likeness...." It was exactly what I needed to be reminded of as I continue to go through difficult times and have some tough decisions ahead of me. God is good! PadrePioOfPietrelcino
I am so happy for you. I have a very tender heart towards our Blessed Mother as she brought me into the Church. If you are comfortable sharing what dates are you going back for the visit? I would love to pray a few rosaries for you while you are there. I'll be praying for you anyway in the meantime.
