mantellata Posted November 25, 2012 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Also - newer communities often begin as "Public Associations of Christ's Faithful" and are not classified as "religious" according to Canon Law - and therefore the protections of Canon Law do not apply to them and cannot be afforded to them except by the good-will of the community in question. I imagine that any newer community, seeking to be recognized with the Church, would ensure that they not only were familiar with Canon Law in their regard, but would operate AS IF they were bound to it, since they are living the life although not juridically recognized.
