MarysLittleFlower
They are the Carmelite nuns with FSSP has anyone here visited them? I'm also kind of confused, do either of these convents have a website? VeniJesuAmorMi
These Carmels have been talked about a lot on here. If you do some searching through the threads you may find a lot more information about them. Especially the threads about Carmel. Here is a website for the Elysburg Carmel. The nuns don't have anything to do with it, they have someone who does it for them. http://friendsofcarmeljmj.org/ As for the one in Nebraska, they had this website going when they were building the monastery, but there isn't much information on it. http://www.lasvegasm....com/carmel.htm They also just made a new foundation in California not too long ago. There are a few threads about that one too. Edit to add: These Carmels are very popular and have a lot of young Vocations which is why they have had to make 2 foundations in less than 5 years, and even after these foundations, the Carmel in Nebraska still has well over 21 there so I wouldn't be surprised if another foundation would be starting again soon! They all keep a lot of beautiful traditions of our Holy Mother St. Teresa as they are very faithful to her (not that others are not of course, but they are different from other Carmels.) They also pray the Office all in Latin and of the Carmelite Rite. Edited November 8, 2012 by VeniJesuAmorMi
MarysLittleFlower
That's so great! they sound wonderful. For some reason, I didn't realize the threads mentioned them! Maybe it's because they mention the location which I'm not familiar with, I just associate them with the FSSP and the Latin Mass. I hope they come to Canada Edited November 8, 2012 by MarysLittleFlower
VeniJesuAmorMi
I hope they come to Canada
They just might do that one day! There is a Sister in the Elysburg Carmel who entered from Canada last year, and earlier this year she just had her clothing (I'm not sure what her name in religion is.) I saw pictures of her entrance day and she came with two other girls from Canada and a Fraternity priest. The two girls were discerning their vocation to the religious life and Father who came with now Sister said that there is many who are looking forward to them coming to Canada if the chance ever came around. Elysburg has yet to make a new foundation; I think they may be at only 14-16 Sisters currently. Perhaps if they were to make one, maybe they would head up that way. Reverend Mother is Canadian too.
