How Is A Font Created?

Sounds like you don't need to make a font. You only need her handwritten characters used in the quote.

If I were you I'd scan in her characters, one at a time if need be, then ask me to trace each character in Illustrator, then arrange them to form the quote and I'd email you a pdf copy.

[/quote]I would talk to a high end tattoo artist. They're adept at copying the visual and the good ones will do preliminary designs for your approval. My daughter has had different phrases done in certain scripts. She draws as well and they colaborate it shouldn't be hard for a skilled artist.
