Luigi
On this important day in American politics, let us invoke the daylong prayers of the holy people who helped to establish the Church in America, who saw the democracy established and develop. Pere Marquette, SJ, explorer of the Mississippi, pray for us. North American martyrs, pray for us. St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us. Bishop Carroll, pray for us. Fr. Gibault, priest of "the Illinois country," pray for us. Bishop DuBourg, bishop of Louisiana and the Floridas, pray for us. St. Philippine Duchesne, missionary of the Sacred Heart, pray for us. Fr. DeSmet, Fr. van Aasch, Fr. Verhagen, Fr. Elet, and the early Missouri Jesuits, pray for us. St. Katherine Drexel of Pennsylvania pray for us. St. Frances Cabrini of Chicago, pray for us. Papist
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Almighty and eternal God, look upon the Heart of Thy most beloved Son and upon the praises and satisfaction which He offers Thee in the name of sinners; and to those who implore Thy mercy, in Thy great goodness, grant forgiveness in the name of the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who livest and reignest with Thee forever and ever. Amen Edited November 7, 2012 by Papist
