Rebirth flame
what exactly is the Eucharistic Reign? someone asked me what it was, but i wasn't very sure... i've heard the term before, but i don't really know what it is... i thought, myself, that it could be Christ's presence in the Concecrated Host that He established in the Last Supper back in the day. the person i was talking to said it had something to do with the second coming, but they didn't know what it was either... i googled it, too, but found no real substantial material. one piece of information that i found said that the Eucharistic Reign was to be established by Christ at the End Time, and that it would be a period of great peace and glory. but then it proceeded to say that that statement was a misconception, and that this belief was against Church teachings. They didn't, however, manage to say what the Church actually says the Eucharistic Reign is... so, my question again, what exactly is the Eucharistic Reign? thank you sooo much in advance!!! God Bless!!! ~rebirth
Pio Nono
JMJ 5/22 - Sixth Saturday of Easter Rebirth flame, I think what you're referring to is the belief called "Millenarianism" or some similar name (it's known by quite a few). This is the belief that, at the end of the "Age of Grace", Christ in the Blessed Sacrament will reign in an era of peace and fecundity that is to last a thousand years. This belief was rejected by Pope Pius XII, though the name of the document escapes me at this point. The Church teaches very little regarding the actual nature of the end of time; all she points to is Christ's words: "...there will be wars and rumors of wars, but these must pass" in order that the kingdom may come to fulfillment. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
