I find this pick to be truly ironic, but I love it! Thank you and may God reward you for your charity! :like3:

May I ask why? I am afraid I don't know much about St. Martin of Tours. :)

you're killing me here! dish the details, dude!
He taught in a seminary...that's what really stuck out to me.

And I looooove Franciscans.

Also, I love history, especially early American Catholic history. He was a major missionary in the Spanish colonies in North America. He also raised a donation to send to George Washington during the Revolution. I think that's pretty cool.

Just some little things that, as I read about him, really stick out to me. I like him!

And this biggest thing: He is the patron of Vocations.. :w00t:

If you do not mind, I think I will get in on this this year.

My (real) name is Joseph. My intentions this year involve... lots of things. My wedding, school, finances, my family (which unfortunately was turned upside down about a year ago now), and just at the moment our little dog who may not make it to this time next year.

I know St. Joseph, Mary's husband, has had my back in a big way in the past. I am sure that he is watching right now too. :) But I would love someone else to nurture a devotion to right now.

Thanks for doing this.

Please pick for me! I already chose one for this Year of Faith but you cannot have too many saints as patrons:

I am currently a full-time student studying for my Associate degree in Medical Office Administration. I am also in the post-application stage to a European order and waiting to hear of my community's decision (which I hope will be soon). I am the oldest of two girls.

The Holy Spirit picked St. Philip the Apostle for me. I immediately googled him and I found this prayer.

Already I know the year with this saint is going to be very interesting =)

O Glorious St. Philip, at the Last Supper you said to Jesus: "Lord, show us the Father and it will be enough for us." Help us to make this our prayer also and to seek God in all things. Obtain for us the grace to know the Father and Jesus Christ whom he has sent, for in this does eternal life consist. Amen.

Red, could you also please draw one for my friend Monica? She's at uni with me and is an only child with most of her family in Europe. She has the following intentions:

- For her parents to return to full health, especially her mother.
- For discernment, as she is not too sure of where God is calling her.

Thank you :)
