dominicansoul
On this day of All Souls, I would like to remember and pray for: My mom, Lucy My brother Johnny My baby nephew Isaac My fraternal and maternal grandparents, Juan & Lita, Tobias and Gina My great aunt Antonia My uncles Manuel and Epifanio My Aunts Irma, Carmen, Lupe My cousins Ruben, David, Jackie My friends America, Stella, "Mercy" And for all the souls in Purgatory who have no one to pray for them... I dedicate this song, "Fly" from Jars of Clay. This song is especially fitting in regards to my mom, whom I stayed by her side during her 10 month battle recovering from Cryptococcal Encephalitis. She was in the hospital for months, and wound up contracting MRSA. It was just one more virus she could not handle, and she succumbed within a month of contracting it... the song is fitting because i would hold her hand while she underwent all sorts of tests and wound care, and together, along with hospital staff, we would pray the Divine Mercy chaplet. The staff weren't even Catholic, but they would join in the prayer nonetheless because it seemed to calm my mom down ... This song just reminds me of the sleepless nights at her bedside, holding her hand.... Freedom
Death of the flesh is hereditary for us all. Prayers to all our faithfully departed and to those who have gone before us and are forgotten. May they all be cleansed and enter the Kingdom of God as soon as possible. Amen.
