Basilisa Marie
I'm a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding in two weeks, and I still need to find shoes that go with my dress. The bride just told us to wear "whatever makes you feel pretty." But...I don't know what that means for shoes. The dress is long and dark blue. What color shoes go with that? Would black be okay? Or should I go with tan?

Basilisa Marie
It's like...indigo/navy/midnight blue...if that helps.
To Jesus Through Mary
I would be inclined to say go with the tan as the blue seems a bit dark to go with black... buuuutttt I miss the convent for the nun shoes. So you might want some one else to weigh in on this.

If you could find some silver colored pumps or sandals, that would be pretty.
Lil Red
do you wear stilettos or pumps on a regular basis? figure out your comfort level as far as shoe heel height first. as far as color goes, it really depends on the color of blue (sometimes blue can be a hard color to get a coordinating shoe color).
oops, missed this! but what are the accent colors to the wedding? or what jewelry/bag are you planning on using? that could give you a help in planning what color of shoe. i would say that black would be fine (perhaps in a crushed velvet type of shoe) or silver (not too bright though, since that tends to look a little gaudy.) i don't think a grey colored shoe would be out of place either. tan or cream or white would be a no go. Lil Red
just some examples of shoes i think might work: http://www.justfab.c...roduct_id=86425 http://www.justfab.c...oduct_id=201733 http://www.justfab.c...oduct_id=191350 something like this wouldn't be too matchy-matchy, depending on the color of dress: http://www.justfab.com/index.cfm?action=shop.viewproduct&displayVideoTab=1&tab=shoe&featured_product_location_id=0&product_id=133348&psrc=shopping_pages_shoes&master_product_id=132043&original_master_product_id=132043
Anastasia13
I was a bridesmaid recently and we all had slightly different shoes, but we coordinated colors. Whatever you wear, wear heels, but not stillettos-you gotta be able to dance at the reception.
Incidentally, I have a pair of silver 6-inch heals that flash every time you take a step, from high school prom. Somehow I doubt Siobhan would approve. The accent colors are just "fall" colors - mostly yellows then reds and oranges. My jaw dropped at that Havana Breeze Platform. I might be drooling. I think I'll try for some silver ones. And I've got some grey crushed velvet flats that'll be good for the reception. Thank you so much everyone!!! Y'all are lifesavers.
Lil Red
if your accent accessories are gold, then a shoe like this would be very pretty: http://www.justfab.com/index.cfm?action=shop.viewproduct&displayVideoTab=1&tab=shoe&featured_product_location_id=0&product_id=126856&psrc=shopping_pages_shoes&master_product_id=126805&original_master_product_id=126805
