lilac_angel
On another forum, I came across someone who said that the Church's opposition of contraception wasn't quite an infallible teaching. What!? This is wrong, right? But this person said that it was actually a conservative priest that told her this! Sure... How would I show her that it's definitely infallible? Besides catholic.com, which attests to the teaching's infallibility... I found this from catholic.net -
After surveying the Church’s historical teaching on contraception, Paul VI’s Minority Commission offered the following statement: "One can find no period in history, no document of the Church, no theological school, scarcely one Catholic theologian, who ever denied that contraception was always seriously evil. The teaching of the Church in this matter is absolutely constant. Until the present century this teaching was peacefully possessed by all other Christians, whether Orthodox or Anglican or Protestant.
Carson Weber
Yes, it is infallible. See a page that one of my peers in the grad theology program at Franciscan University put together at http://www.geocities.com/apotheoun
