How Should My Disposition On Dicerning Life Events Be?

How should I act in situation when i am trying to understand what God want's me to do. And, I'm not necessarily talking about just big life events but small ones as well. For example, understanding if God wants you to go to the store now or later. I constantly try to understand God's voice. Am I just trying too hard and get frustrated because[i] I am [/i]trying to hard? Am I being a control freak about letting God control my every move or am I doing things right in turning to him to make my every decision?

I know God is omnipotent, but I can't image him worrying about what time you go to the store. He gave us free will so that we will use it. Boldly. Be Not Afraid. Most of us would be grateful for a hint about his will for us in big stuff. I've always been willing to do his will, I just wanted him to let me know what it is. True Epiphanies are rare. I'm not saying I want to be knocked off a horse by a lightening bolt, but I'd settle for an occasional email.
