Don't Vote For Romney

lol.

well I never said it was true, just that a decent argument could be made. I tend to side with the decent argument that Romney means it when he says he doesn't foresee any abortion related legislation, and that this includes any kind of overturning of "precedents" which I think he's all in favor of. I don't actually believe anything will slow down under Romney; but all in all I think this argument has run its course... no one that's involved at this point is likely to change their minds, and scattered amidst many of the unhelpful comments there's enough decent arguments on both sides for spectators to make up their own minds. Good luck to the Romney supporters, I hope you are not disappointed/betrayed, and I hope that you have the guts to stand up to hold Romney's feet to the fire if you are.

There is a chance that Romney will do more things to limit abortion.
There is zero chance that Obama will do anything to limit abortion.

I don't understand how anyone has convinced themselves otherwise.

You left out something:

There's a chance Obama will do more to expand abortion (even if it's IUDs, which do in fact cause abortions) and almost no chance Romney will expand abortion.

I hate war and can't stand the idea of attacking Iran with unnecessary violence. Humane immigration policy is important to me and so is the economy. The two party system sux. But I'm voting for Romney---to limit the evil of abortion; the daily bloodletting of innocents chips away at our free society. Obama supports abortion expansion as qfnol31 pointed out; the other guy, Romney, promises to limit it---we can appeal to him to keep his word.

As dUSt said, "There is a chance that Romney will do more things to limit abortion." I'm willing to take that chance.

There's a chance Obama will do more to expand abortion . . .

I'd say it's closer to a certainty.

Thank you swell friends. I revise my ideology:

There is a chance that Romney will do more things to limit abortion.
There is zero chance that Romney will expand abortion.
There is zero chance that Obama will do anything to limit abortion.
There is a chance that Obama will expand abortion.

Yeah, I don't understand any rationality that tries to justify anything except getting Obama out of office.

[/quote]because rationality is really code words for utilitarianism morality, naïveté, and of being of low intelligence that can't grasp the higher stratagem in politics.

Way to go, Pawn of the Dems.

I gotta hand it to the Obama administration, once again, it appears they did an amazing job at dividing and conquering the Catholic vote.

Wait...when did we decide this? Because up until he was (apparently) told to step in line by the party, Romney was pretty pro-Abortion.

I think it was Kujo who said that the argument was that Romney would do nothing either way.

I don't think in terms of political parties.

It actually gives me warm fuzzies to know that sleazy scummy political tricksters seeking power have not be able to effectively co-opt the sacramental reality of the communion of the Church and turn it into just some glue to hold a voting block together. It makes me sad and disgusted when I see people utilizing canon law and Church doctrines as a tool to cement together a voting block.

but maybe I'm just too cynical about how sleazy and unworthy of our devotion politics is.
