Story Time!

so somewhat recently I've hinted that I found out I had Aspergers, diagnosed as a teen but it took a dog bite to find out I had been diagnosed. now here's the story.

Couple months ago was out walking evening, 4 small/medium dogs escaped their home, jumped on me, one tore my jeans, another bit me, (I wasn't harmed). Mom asked if I wanted to go to the police station , I ask if we could go the day after instead, I didn't want this to ruin the rest of my day, asked if we could go the day after, and so we did.

The person working there (dispatcher maybe?) asked why we waited until that day to make the report, I told her I just wasn't in the mood, didn't want to deal with it.. and my mom explained to her that I was Autistic... that was news to me!

So later that day I was walking with my mom, and asked "I never knew I was autistic", and told me I had a form of it called Aspergers. she was as surprised that I didn't know as I was to find out. I had heard of it, and but didn't really think it pertained to me for some reason, I figured it was just social anxiety (which there still could be). but the deeper I looked into it, (like being alone, insomniac, little to no eye contact, thinking of "Special interests" almost all the time, clumsiness/lack of coordination, and other it did sound like me.)

I wasn't upset with this news at all, I always knew I was socially awkward and such, but didn't really know why, I thought it was just an anxiety thing. I'm more relieved to know than anything.

I also knew my whole approach to the whole vocation world was a lot different than others, because frankly. I didn't feel called to any of it, Marriage included. I still don't, the picture is just a little more clearer and thinking that indeed I am not called to any of that. (Not all aspies are like this, just some)

So here I am trying to live my faith the best I can as an Aspie. Prayers are always appreciated, and I will pray for you guys too :)

Oh, never mind, it is on your profile. :) Does this kind of change how you look at your younger years? Like do some things make more sense now that did not make sense then?
