It seems that, in the East, vocation is very much about finding spiritual elders to learn from (as St Anthony does in that article). I know they have the tradition of spiritual fatherhood, and it's not lost in the West, either, but our vocations are more "join a group that fits you" and theirs are more "find a person you want to emulate". Any thoughts?
