Slappo
I went to a Ruthenian Catholic Church this weekend for Divine Liturgy and I'm in love. If there was a Byzantine Rite parish in my city... I'd switch from Roman to whichever Eastern Church was available. I guess I'm not a true latin at heart
Nihil Obstat
I cannot believe that I still have not made the time to go to the Ukrainian Catholic parish in the city. Or the Maronite one.

Nihil Obstat
I keep saying that I will, and then I never do. For the next few weeks I will not, because our FSSP priest has been re-assigned. He's going to be the regional superior for the Southern Cross (New Zealand/Australia) region, while a New Zealand priest just got here to take over for him. So I want to get used to this new priest first. Seems like a great guy- I went to confession with him yesterday. But AFTER that, I want to get to both the Maronite parish and the Ukrainian parish. Also I want to visit the SSPX chapel at some point and see what their community is like. Whether they are friendly or the kind of stereotypically insular sort of group (obviously I am hoping for the former). But they are midway through renovations of a new building, so I will wait until things have normalized for them.
Nihil Obstat
And then my secondary priorities are to make time in my Sunday schedule to visit the Coptic Orthodox and Russian Orthodox parishes. But that will take a clearer schedule since it obviously would not fulfill my Sunday obligation.

dominicansoul
isn't the Eucharist in a little cube shape? I am going to attend a Ukrainian Catholic Mass in a few months...
vee
slappo Ive attended several Masses in that very same rite. Im hooked. Yes the Precious Body is leavened bread cut in a tiny cube, mingled in teh chalice with the Precious Blood. The communicant receives from teh priest from a tiny spoon.
