southern california guy
We just got some rain and everything is green and growing well. And -- looking at the little steep hill to the side of my house where I have planted some palm trees and tropical plants -- I realized that it will be a jungle soon. But can you ever plant too many palm trees? I want to put a waterfall in the corner. I think that jungles are cool! southern california guy
I am only just getting started on my place (The shade cloth is to help acclimate the new little palms -- because they were grown in shade and aren't used to full sun). southern california guy
My property is kind of steep, but retaining walls and terracing should provide a perfect place for the fruit trees. And you can see the first of the raised beds that I've built for a vegetable garden. They are 5' x 10'. I am going to build four more down there today. You can also see where I'm getting ready to build a greenhouse. And I've got the electric wire around the fruit trees to stop the deer from chewing on them. There are even deer here in San Diego county... xTrishaxLynnx
The only palm trees I've ever actually been near had palmetto bugs / cockroaches in them, and that's gross. Ergo, I do not like palm trees.
