Catholic Book Suggestions

Recommended Posts

I need to get birthday presents for my two sisters; one is in her lower 30s, and the other is 20. I was thinking probably a good Catholic book, but I'm not sure what would be relate-able and age appropriate for them respectfully. The one in her 30s is a paralegal who is having a bit of a bumpy faith life right now, and the 20 year old is a sorority girl at a Catholic college who goes to Mass pretty regularly, but if she is struggling with anything it is probably complacence. Any ideas?

Give them both Matthew Kelly's "Rediscovering Catholicism". Their spiritual lives will be changed forever. I also recommend his book "The Rhythm of Life".

I loved this book:

I Believe in Love: A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Therese

I gave it to my mom to read because it helped me so much. As soon as she gives it back, I plan to read it again because it's been a while.

I 2nd the book by Matthew Kelly. He is easily readable by anyone on any level of the faith and so inspiring!

This my sound strange, but it is a serious suggestion. " We nuerotics: a handbook for the half-mad", by Fr Fred Basset SJ. An excellent book written in prose, that gives an indirect lesson on what normal christianity means in our everyday life. Might be hard to find though.

AVE MARIA!
